Please carefully read the
following instructions before attempting assignment.
RULES FOR MARKING
It should be clear that your
assignment would not get any credit if:
- The assignment is submitted after the due date.
- The submitted assignment does not open or file is
corrupt.
- Strict action will be taken if submitted solution is
copied from any other student or from the internet.
You should consult the recommended
books and lab manuals to clarify your concepts as handouts are not sufficient.
Your assignment solution must be in .zip
format containing two files.
·
The first file will be an EWB file related to Activity 1.
·
The second file will be a word file (.doc) containing the solution of Activity
2.
Any
other formats like scanned images, PDF, ppt and bmp etc will not be accepted.
NOTE
No assignment will be accepted after due date via email in any case (whether
it is the case of load shedding or internet malfunctioning etc.). Hence,
refrain from uploading assignment in the last hour of deadline. It is
recommended to upload solution file at least two days before its closing date.
If students find any mistake or
confusion in assignment (Question statement), please consult with your
instructor before the deadline. After the deadline, no queries will be
entertained in this regard.
For any query, feel free to email

Question Statement:
In this assignment, you
are required to design a circuit using “Electronic Work Bench”. The circuit
needs to generate a clock pulse which remains ON for 30 secs and OFF for 10 sec
for a complete 4 minutes.
For this assignment,
you are required to go through the 555 Timer IC. The 555 IC datasheet is
available in Downloads section of your course.
Students must go
through the 555 Data Sheet and then by using the Electronic Work Bench
application, perform the following activities.
Activity 1:
Draw a complete
circuit diagram in Electronic Workbench to generate the above given Clock
Pulse.
Activity 2:
You are required to calculate
the following values for resistors & capacitors to generate the specified
timing cycles.
